Mr. Hyde received his undergraduate degree in Organizational Development with a minor in Spanish, from Brigham Young University-Hawaii (B.S., summa cum laude, 1991), where he was salutatorian of his graduating class. He earned his law degree at Brigham Young University's J. Reuben Clark Law School (J.D., cum laude, 1994), graduating with honors.

Mr. Hyde practices in the area of commercial and civil litigation, with an emphasis on insurance defense, construction, school, employment, real property, and business law. His experience includes:
Defending several Arizona schools and school districts in various litigation matters, including personal injury lawsuits, conflict of interest claims, open meeting and open records disputes, and public procurement law issues.

Defending many litigants on behalf of insurers in a wide spectrum of litigation and coverage matters. Types of insurance-related representations have included coverage opinions, personal injury, insurance bad faith, legal malpractice, medical malpractice, products liability, wrongful death, age and sex discrimination in employment, Americans with Disabilities Act, and Civil Rights Act claims.

Representing a number of commercial landlords and tenants in landlord-tenant disputes and litigation, as well as many large regional and national banks and mortgage lenders in connection with residential and commercial mortgage foreclosures and collection actions.

Representing several large regional and national clients in construction disputes. Clients have included municipalities, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and owners.

Litigating many business and contractual disputes for local and national clients.

In addition to being a member of the Arizona Bar, Mr. Hyde is a member of the State Bar of Hawaii, where he practiced with Hawaii's second largest law firm and taught civil litigation and business law courses at Brigham Young University-Hawaii as an adjunct instructor. For several years he served as a member of both the Fiesta Bowl Committee and the Arizona Special Olympics Cactus Challenge Committee, and he was named in January, 2004 to the Fiesta Bowl Life Committee. Mr. Hyde is also a past member of the Jeep Aloha Bowl Committee and the Hula Bowl Committee during his years in Hawaii. He presently serves on the Brigham Young University Alumni Board for the State of Arizona and has been president of the Arizona Chapter of the BYU Cougar Club since 1999.
